February 28, 1997, 9:16 AM - Larry Phillips Jr. & Emil Matasareanu entered & robbed Bank of America's North Hollywood branch. This infamous event became known as the North Hollywood Shootout. At the end of the day both robbers lay dead in the street, twelve police officers & eight civilians were injured, numerous vehicles & property were damaged or destroyed, with ~ 2,000 rounds of ammunition fired by the robbers & responding police.
