Anton Chigurh utilized some very unique weapons. Here we have his Remington Model 11-87 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun with a homemade suppressor, which emitted a sound that will probably never be replicated. The iconic, muted "zip" or deep thump sound in the film was created entirely in post-production sound editing.
The prop was created by armorer Larry Zanoff. The original film prop is housed in the NRA National Firearms Museum Hollywood Guns exhibit.
Alongside the shotgun, Chigurh is famously known for using a pneumatic captive-bolt pistol (cattle stunner) and a TEC-9.
